Centered in the Heart of Texas, Austin became home for Josh Field in 2008. Upon arrival, Field immediately formed and played alongside several bands like the harmonious 6 piece, Driftwood Revival and the traditionally based 3 piece, Groovy Roots. He even played drums for a 2-piece rock band The Broken Hips. About five years ago Josh formed his current band, Brother Nothing and they have been playing their brand of Country-Soul Rock & Roll ever since.
2015 was a busy year for the up and coming artist. Field & Brother Nothing and recorded their first album “ALL IN MY MIND” in Austin Texas at Cedar Fever Studios. While completing the finishing touches on Brother Nothing’s debut album Josh teamed up with owner/producer Gary Sadker of Red Ridge Entertainment in Nashville, TN to record his solo EP “Satisfied” which was released in late 2015. The single “Cold Cold Ground” from the EP earned radio play throughout the U.S.
During the “ALL IN MY MIND” album release along with a cross-country tour in 2016, Josh opened for various national touring artists such as Blackberry Smoke, Charlie Robison and Billy Joe Shaver and regional Acts such as The Resentments and The Chubby Knuckle Choir . In early 2017, he and the band teamed up with known Austin producer Kelly Donnelly to record “REASONS FOR CHANGE”
The single “Waiting on a Train” was released in early March 2017 to radio and streaming sites across the nation. His full album REASONS FOR CHANGE followed in late August along with a three city support spot with the national touring act Whiskey Myers. Josh spent 8 out of the 12 months in 2017 on the road supporting ‘Reasons For Change” and didn't slow down until the pandemic. After almost a year and a half of no shows, Field will be back at it in July 2021. He will kick off a six month tour in Wenatchee Washington that will take him across the country. Josh plans to stay busy spreading his version of Hi-Fi and Lo-Stress to all who would like to listen.
